Fiction by Isaac J Burns

Joe Butler writes fiction under the name Isaac J Burns.

These stories are seperate from Dismantled, but they return to familiar ground: broken worlds, survival, myth, memory, impossible choices, and the question of what people build after everything they trusted has fallen apart.

The fiction is Isaac J Burns sits in the space between dark fantasy, mythic ruin, and human aftermath. These are stories of scarred landscapes, damaged faiths, old powers, stubborn survivors, and people trying to make meaning in worlds that have already ended once.

Heavenfall

Heavenfall is the central fiction world of Isaac J Burns.

It begins with The Gospel of Salt & Glass, a dark fantasy novel set centuries after the Fall, in a world shaped by salt, glass, faith, memory, and the ruins of powers no one fully understands.

This is a world of Saltwalkers, Glassbreakers, Wound-courts, broken kingdoms, forgotton histories, and dangerous truths buried beneath myth. It is a world where survival is never clean, where belief has consequences, and where the past is not finished with the living.

At its heart, Heavenfall is about aftermath.

What happens after the old world breaks?

Who gets to tell the story of what occured?

What does survival cost?

And what do people become when the truth finally cuts through?

A Gospel of Salt & Glass

A Gospel of Salt & Glass is the first novel set within the Heavenfall world.

The manuscript is currently in its final development stages and will be seeking literary representation shortly.

It is designed to stand alone as a complete story while opening the door to a wider mythos: the Cartographers, the Wound-courts, the Time of Lights, the Crooked Watch, and the long shadow of the fall.

Future Works

The Heavenfall world is planned to expand through further novels, short stories, and companion pieces exploring different corners of the same broken history.

These include stories of the Cartographers, the Red Gathering, the Time of Lights, the aftermath of the declined throne, and the remembered tales collected under What the Road Remembers.
